Do you want to pass the Civil Service Exam this 2022?
I know, silly question. Who wouldn’t, right?
I know how you feel, I was once in your shoes.
But thankfully, by applying the tips I’m about to teach you, I passed the Civil Service Exam (Professional Level) in 2018. It was my first take.
Not to brag but I wasn’t really a high-achiever or anything in college. But I managed to be included at the 11.35% of exam takers in that batch who passed.
What exactly did I do? Did I paid for an expensive review center?
No…
Was I just naturally smart?
No…
In fact, my grades were filled with line of 7s in college.
So how did I pass the Civil Service Professional exam in one take?
If you’re here to just get the Civil Service Reviewer, here are they. But if you want to learn the secret techniques I used to pass, stick around until the end!
Note: These reviewers are from Governmentph and cse-reviewer websites. I just downloaded and compiled them in this Google Drive link to make it easier for you.

1. Start Reviewing Months Before
Before I guide you to the first tip. Here’s my Civil Service Certificate of Eligibility so you’ll know that these tips really worked for me.
Although the score I got isn’t high, it’s enough to pass.
So, the first tip that I’m sure you’ve heard a million times by now is to review for months before the exam.
Personally, I reviewed for around 3 months when I took the CSE exam.
But don’t worry if you don’t have this time as the CSE this year is scheduled in March 15, 2020 for the first batch. For those who will take it in 2022 – they’ll have plenty of time to review.
Why do I and a lot of people advise exam takers to review for at least months?
It’s because preparation is the KEY!
It doesn’t matter how smart you are if you’ve only reviewed for a few days, you’ll be at risked of failing.
The key is to treat this like a board exam. You wouldn’t take a board exam without reviewing hard right?
2. Have a Review Schedule
The next thing you should take note of is having a review schedule.
What do I mean by this? Do I really need this?
If you’re not convinced, here are the benefits of having a systematic review schedule.
- It keeps you organized.
- Keeps you motivated.
- Gives you a system to stick to.
- It conditions you physically and mentally.
- It helps you be disciplined.
But don’t just create a review schedule only to abandon it after a few days.
Make sure to STICK with it no matter what. Put it in your study table or your phone so you don’t forget it.
A great review schedule can be like this:
Week 1 – Numerical Ability
Week 2 – Verbal Ability
Week 3 – Analytical Ability
and so on…
But don’t just stop there. Ideally, you need to plan your review schedule for the day too.
For instance, if you’re going to review Math topics in your first week, try to focus on one topic per day.
Week 1
Monday – Basic Operations
Tuesday – Worded Operations
Wednesday – Number Series and Sequence
Pro Tip: If you’ve finished all the review topics and you still have weeks left before the exam, repeat the schedule from the start. This will ensure that you really got the basics down.
To help you with this, here’s a Free Civil Service Exam Review Schedule in Excel that you can download and edit. Use this to help you plan your review schedule for weeks!

3. Focus on your Weaknesses
After you download the Civil Service Reviewer 2022, it’s important to review systematically.
What do I mean by this?
Let me tell you a brief story….
Back when I was reviewing for the CSE, I didn’t have a system in place.
I just reviewed the first thing that I saw. Which I quickly realized was WRONG!
No, I’m not saying it’s wrong to review but this approach isn’t the best.
After this, I learned to focus on improving my weakness which is Math first.
This helped me greatly as I was able to improve on my weakness in a span of a few weeks.
But before you review, first, assess your skill level on the subjects so that you know how much time you need to review each subject.
Here’s an example of how to allocate your review schedule:
Numerical Topics – 40%
Analytical Topics – 30%
General Information – 20%
Verbal Topics – 10%
This is how I spent my 3 months of review schedule. Notice that I focused heavily on Math topics because that’s the area I’m most weak.
Don’t get me wrong, I graduated with a course in Business Administration but that’s because we were allowed to use calculators!
But in the CSE exam, you will be forced to do every computation manually. Normally, that’s not a prolem, but I couldn’t use a calculator in here.
That’s why for the next 3 months, I spent most of my time reviewing Math topics. On top of this, I tried to solve around 10 random problems every day just to get used to computing manually.
As for the English topics, since this is my strength, I didn’t spend as much time reviewing these compared to Math.
This is how I efficiently spent my 3 months of review time.
